Former Anson police chief arrested in Texas Rangers investigation | KTAB

JONES COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A former police chief from Anson has been arrested as part of a Texas Rangers investigation.
Sheriff Danny Jimenez confirmed Coy Sanchez went to Jones County Jail Tuesday night on two property theft warrants — a felony warrant for theft over $750 but less than $2,500 and a for misdemeanor for theft over $100 but less than $750.
These charges relate to Jimenez’s tenure as police chief, according to Sheriff Jimenez, but he would not elaborate on the nature of the allegations.
The Texas Rangers were the arresting agency and investigated Sanchez.
Sanchez was sworn in as police chief in July 2020. He was later named Anson’s “Man of the Year” in April 2021, before ending his career in resignation for unspecified reasons in October 2022.
KTAB and KRBC will follow this investigation and provide more information as it is published.
