Simon Jordan believes Steven Gerrard’s impending move to Saudi Arabia will do his reputation as a manager no good, describing it as “a financial decision”.
TalkSPORT understands that the Liverpool legend is set to accept a lucrative deal with Saudi side Al Ettifaq, which Jordan says will prove to be a short-sighted move on his part.
Speaking on White and Jordan, he said: “It’s not football decisions, it’s financial decisions. Nobody can sit here and suggest that if they were in a position where they were offered money, they wouldn’t think of it themselves.
“If you want to make a footballing decision that will take you on a journey that will make you a very successful manager and that you support yourself, then you don’t need to go to Dubai or the Middle East or wherever it is. or (Gerrard) going.
“In this case, it’s not a football decision, he’s not going to progress as a manager, he’s not going to improve his reputation among those eyes that might look at him and say, ‘oh look what you’ve got. done in the Saudi league.’
