Russell Wilson Injury Update

Wilson suffered a horrific finger injury during Thursday Night Football against the Rams, and we have good news and bad news for his fantasy owners. The initial thought was that Wilson would miss up to eight weeks after undergoing surgery for a ruptured tendon in his right middle finger. However, after successful surgery, doctors now say he has a realistic chance of coming back in just four weeks. So the bad news is that he will miss at least a month of the season, but his outlook is much better than we initially thought, and he could be a factor for your fantasy squad as you fight for the playoffs. Fantasy playoffs. Not that I really have to say it, but Geno Smith is now the Seattle starting quarterback for the superflex / two-QB leagues. He’s not been impressive throughout his career, but this is the best skill group he will be able to work with, and he has some rush upside down.

We rank Smith as our QB27 for Week 6 against the Steelers, who will likely intimidate Seattle’s offensive line and make Smith’s first Seahawks start a nightmare. He might be playable down the line depending on the clashes, but it’s not the week for him.

Joe Burrow Injury Update

Burrow was knocked out of the game against the Packers after diving for a first down but was able to return to action until overtime. However, he was rushed to hospital after the game with a possible contusion to his throat, which obviously seems worrying. We’re not going to speculate on its status, so stay tuned for more updates. NBC’s Mike Florio reported on the Sunday Night Football TV show that Burrow thinks he will be fine.

If all goes well with Burrow he could be in line for a great day against Detroit in Week 6. He ranks him as our QB10 this week.

Daniel Jones injury update

Jones took a scary hit against the Cowboys and was dizzy when he stood up after trying to dive for the end zone. Needless to say, he was quickly kicked out of the game and put on concussion protocol. Again, we can’t and don’t want to speculate on a concussion, so we’ll have to look at this later in the week.

If he does play, we rank him as our QB13 for Week 6. The Rams’ defense hasn’t been as strong as in years past, and Jones has had three QB1 performances this season. With Saquon Barkley (ankle) out, he’ll likely be back in scrambling on several occasions. If he’s out, Mike Glennon will get the go-ahead and likely be ranked bottom of the list.
