Fan View: “We don’t want Kuame Eugene” – Performance proposed by Kotoko fan clashes with Hearts of Oak supporters

A musical performance proposal during Sunday’s Super Clash sparked a lot of backlash on social media

The sensation of Ghanaian singer Kuami Eugene is all the rage as Hearts of Oak fans vehemently opposed a musical performance proposal during the club’s home clash with rivals Asante Kotoko in the Ghanaian Premier League on Sunday.

Notorious great rival in African football, the two teams are expected to rekindle their rivalry on Matchday 31 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

There will be more than pride in fighting between Ghana’s two biggest clubs, as they are currently tied on points for the top of the table, with four more rounds to go.

After publicly declaring his love for Kotoko, title artist of the year at the Ghana Music Awards, Eugene, brand ambassador for Adonko Next Level Energy Drink which sponsors both clubs, was offered to entertain fans during the interval of the Sunday game.

The offer was reportedly made by the beverage company.

However, Hearts fans, including famous Ghanaian MP Sam George, have none of it as they vowed to interfere with the musician’s performance.
