Everton signed Demarai Gray from Bayer Leverkusen for around £ 1.6million, ending his brief stint in the Bundesliga.
Gray arrived in Florida, where Everton are hosting a preseason training camp, to undergo a medical exam on Thursday.
The 25-year-old winger has signed a three-year contract with the Toffees, who have the option of extending it for another 12 months.
Gray said evertontv that new Toffees boss Rafa Benitez was one of the main reasons for his decision to move to Goodison Park, saying: “I am delighted to be back in the Premier League at such a great club and I am delighted to play with the team and get to work.
“Talk to the manager and [director of football] Marcel Brands, I had a very good feeling with the club and I think it’s a place where I can continue to evolve.
“The manager, with his ambition and what he has won in the past, is important and we will be looking to move forward and compete with the best clubs. I think a club of this magnitude has all the potential. to be up there.
“Everton are a very big club and the main goal is to push and get back to the top of the table. I want to work hard on the training ground and do my best for the club on the pitch.”
Gray only joined Leverkusen in January after a five-year stay in Leicester.
