The heated race for the Pennsylvania Senate is under this week’s “Election Spotlight,” Fox News Digital’s series that asks candidates from top races to answer the same set of politics and political questions.
Democratic Lt. Governor John Fetterman and famed doctor-turned-GOP candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz spoke to Fox News Digital about issues facing America, including President Biden’s administration, the economy, the energy and more.
Here’s what the two dueling candidates had to say.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate Joe Biden’s handling of the presidency and why?
Fetterman: “There is still work to be done, the American people are struggling, and we need to make sure the government is doing everything in its power to bring down prices and help workers.”
DR. OZ: THE ONLY THING JOE BIDEN IS REBUILDING BETTER IS THE REPUBLICAN PARTY
Ohz: “Joe Biden completely let our country down and got a 0 for not running. His wasteful spending, his attacks on American energy, his failure to control inflation and his policies of open borders have been disastrous for our nation.
“My opponent, John Fetterman, gave him a high mark in a debate earlier this year, even though the majority of Americans agree that our country is not moving in the right direction under Joe’s administration. Biden. That’s why we’ll win in November and help the Republicans regain control of the Senate.”

Do you think the economy has entered a recession? How would you get the economy back on track if elected in November?
Fetterman: “We still have a lot of work to do to get the rising costs and inflation in order and bring the prices down for workers across the country. People are hurting. I would continue to fight inflation by expanding manufacturing here at home and simplifying our supply chains.” Making more shit in America will lower prices for everyone and create more good-paying jobs for Pennsylvanians. I would also take on corporate greed and CEOs making record profits while charging more and more people in Pennsylvania. I have the backbone to stand up and take on CEOs and corporate vested interests and fight to bring down prices for workers, my opponent Dr Oz does not.”
JOHN FETTERMAN CALLS DIVIDE A ‘STAIN’ ON PENNYSLVANIA, DEPLANTS HIS OWN ‘PRIVLED’ LIFE IN OLD REDIT POSTS
oz: “Whatever the Biden administration wants to call it: two straight quarters of declining GDP is a recession, and John Fetterman’s spending plans would make it even worse. It’s time to stand up for American families and get our economy back on track after this downward spiral with a comprehensive energy policy that emphasizes natural gas. We also need to reduce the reckless spending that causes the economy to overheat with borrowed money.”

What should voters know about your opponent?
Fetterman: “My famous multi-millionaire adversary, Dr. Oz, doesn’t feel a price change when he fills up on gas – if he even pumps his own gas, because they don’t let you do that in his hometown. ‘Oz. New Jersey, he doesn’t understand, he doesn’t feel the rising prices at the pump or the grocery store, he has no idea what families in Pennsylvania are going through.
“Moving to Pennsylvania from New Jersey to try to take our Senate seat is part of a bigger problem about who Oz really is: a fraud that is simply using the people of Pennsylvania for its new vanity scheme.”
oz: “My opponent is a Bernie Sanders socialist. John Fetterman’s radical, liberal policies would drive up gas prices for everyone by destroying our energy industry. He even called fracking a ‘stain on Pennsylvania.’ He will make our communities less safe and has advocated for the release of ⅓ of the prisoners in jail. It’s no wonder the far left leaders of the Democratic Party – AOC and Elizabeth Warren – threw their support behind someone who shares their radical values.
“It’s time for John Fetterman to start publicly answering for his crazy views on things like supporting dangerous sanctuary city policies, decriminalizing all drugs, energy-guzzling policies like the Green New Deal, and spending trillions more. useless.”

What do you think is the most important problem in your state?
Fetterman: “The biggest problem in Pennsylvania is still inflation and rising prices. When I fill up my Dodge RAM, it still costs a lot more than it did a year ago. When I go grocery shopping, almost everything I buy costs Suite.
“If we are serious about lowering gas prices, we must suspend the federal gas tax to provide immediate relief to people at the pumps. We must also continue to use American oil – and produce and invest in more oil. American energy. . But inflation doesn’t just affect us at the pumps. It’s everywhere. So it’s not just the energy we should be producing here at home. That’s all. We should be increasing production in all sectors, increasing capacity and supply to drive down prices everywhere The supply chain becomes much less complicated when it starts and ends here at home, instead of depending on foreign countries. »
DR. OZ SLAMS THE POWER OF GREEN ENERGY BY BIDEN, SENATE DEM OPPONENT: ‘NOT FOLLOWING SCIENCE’
Ohz: “Pennsylvania Energy can be a tool in solving our current energy crisis. We have enough natural gas under our feet to power the entire country for over 200 years. Yet Joe Biden and John Fetterman have launched an attack on American energy – forcing us to depend on our adversaries around the world. John Fetterman called for the cancellation of the Keystone pipeline and called fracking a “stain on Pennsylvania”.
“We need to unleash the power of American energy, not go abroad begging for energy from Iran, Russia and Venezuela. If the government gets out of the way of our workers in Pennsylvania , we could use American energy to drive down the cost of gas as well as restore America’s energy dominance.”
According to you, what is your greatest strength for the mid-terms?
Fetterman: “I understand what Pennsylvania voters are going through. Throughout my career, I have always stood up for the communities and the people Washington politicians leave behind. Voters know they can trust me to fight for them because I’m one of them.. I’ve lived in Pennsylvania for most of my life, visited all 67 counties of Pennsylvania many times and know the issues that matter to people of the entire Commonwealth. Dr. Oz does not know them.”
oz: “Radical liberals in Washington only care about the appearance of benevolence. Their policies have sent the economy into a downward spiral and robbed Americans of their savings. I care about solving problems. I have spent my life in the medical field, inventing ways to save lives, devices and empowering my patients to become experts in their own health. As an outsider, I challenged powerful insiders to protect Americans for my entire career, and I will continue to do so as a US Senator.

What do you want to say to voters who are considering voting for your opponent?
Fetterman: “My multi-millionaire famed adversary, Dr. Oz, who owns 11 homes around the world, doesn’t care about the people of Pennsylvania, he doesn’t understand our struggles, he doesn’t understand our lives. He’s not one of us, and he will certainly not fight for us in Washington.
He just moved from New Jersey to run for the Senate. Just as he has done on television for almost two decades now, Dr. Oz says and does whatever will benefit him personally.”
oz: “I’m a political outsider – not a career politician like John Fetterman. I’m ready to take on the establishment and the disastrous Biden-Fetterman agenda of rising crime, skyrocketing inflation, weak government. leadership and failing schools John Fetterman made it clear he would be another buffer for failed policies that hurt Pennsylvanians John Fetterman’s radical, socialist agenda will hurt working Americans and make our streets less safe Pennsylvania needs to send a bold leader to Washington to share a dose of reality and help heal our great country – that’s exactly what I’m going to do.”
