Roker, 68, missed the Thanksgiving Day parade for the first time in 27 years as he recovers after being hospitalized with blood clots.

Dozens of fans raved about Dreyer on social media after replacing Roker.

One viewer said the weatherman ‘rocked’ the parade, while others called her ‘awesome’.

Dreyer’s co-star Sheinelle Jones posted several love heart emojis, as did the official Today Instagram account.

Dreyer told her hundreds of thousands of social media followers that it was an “honor” to cover the event.

Roker has been part of the team covering the Parade since 1995 before missing it this year.

Fans were devastated by his absence, but he managed to tune into the TV and got a shoutout from Kotb and Guthrie.

During the parade, Dreyer appeared to be embroiled in an awkward encounter with President Joe Biden.

“Awkward Encounter”

She told viewers: “Guys, I think I’m getting a phone call. You know, I’m not one to take a phone call on TV, but I think I should answer this one.

On the other end of the line was Commander-in-Chief and First Lady Jill Biden.

Dreyer appeared to wait an agonizing 17 seconds for a response from the president amid connection issues.

She said, “I don’t think I can hear you. Can you hear me, Mr. President?

The president and first lady were then heard mumbling something inaudible over the phone, while Dreyer waited awkwardly.

She said, “Hello? Happy Thanksgiving, Mr. President. Are you here?”

Biden replied, “We’re here” before letting out a laugh.

The Bidens revealed their vacation plans, saying they plan to have dinner with their family and then maybe take a walk on the beach.

Twitter users rushed to comment on the awkwardness of the call.

One said: “The dropped call between Dylan Dreyer and Joe and Jill Biden was the ultimate grandma and grandpa interaction over the holidays. #MacysThanksgivingParade.

And, another commented, “Dylan Dreyer trying to talk to Joe Biden on the phone during the parade is every phone call with my grandpa, only my grandpa insults me.”
