Former President Donald Trump covered a boxing match on the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and took the opportunity to regurgitate his lies about his electoral defeat.
Trump and his son Donald Trump Jr. commented on a live broadcast of four pay-per-view fights crowned by UFC veteran Vitor Belfort’s first-round TKO of former 58-year-old champ Evander Holyfield.
While awaiting scores from judges from a previous fight, the former president said he had witnessed many bad boxing decisions.
“It’s like an election,” he said, according to USA Today. “It could be rigged.”
Trump unsuccessfully pushed his bogus claims in court that Joe Biden won the 2020 election in a rigged vote. Although U.S. election officials have found no evidence of widespread fraud, Trump and his fellow Republicans continue to piss off his base. Hundreds of Trump supporters were indicted in the January 6 Capitol uprising.
In another off-topic moment at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, Trump shot Biden and the chaotic U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan.
“We had a really bad week because of very bad decisions that were made… We should never have allowed what happened in Afghanistan with 13 great warriors and many wounded and many people killed during the last few days and it was just a shame, ” he said, according to the (UK) Independent.
