Death of Norm Macdonald: “SNL” star battles cancer

Canadian comedian Norm Macdonald has died after a private battle with cancer.

His management agency confirmed on Tuesday that Macdonald died at 61.

Macdonald has not shared his health concerns with the public.

The stand-up high in Quebec was best known for his tenure on “Saturday Night Live”.

His ironic and impassive speech in the presenter chair of “Weekend Update” divided audiences for the variety show in the mid-1990s.

Macdonald went on to amass a devoted following among comedy fans for his saucy rejection of easy punchlines.
