Country music artist Jake Flint died in his sleep just hours after his wedding on Saturday, November 26, he revealed.
His wife Brenda Flint posted a video clip of their wedding and captioned the post, “I don’t get it.”
Flint, 37, was based in Tulsa and grew up in Holdenville.
The cause of his death has not yet been determined.
His longtime publicist, Clif Doyal, told Oklahoma: “He wasn’t just a client, he was a dear friend and just a super nice guy. As you can see on social media, he was loved by everyone. I think a big part of that was just because he was a people person and had an amazing sense of humor.
He added, “He made everyone laugh and he made everyone feel welcome. He was an ambassador for Oklahoma Red Dirt music.
Flint’s first music album was “I’m Not Okay” in 2016 and went on to release three more albums – “Live and Not OK at Cain’s Ballroom” in 2018, “Jake Flint” in 2020 and “Live and Socially Distanced at Mercury Lounge” in 2021.
He was a featured artist on the Future Faces Show at the 2018 Texas Regional Radio Music Awards.
Brenda Cline, Flint’s business advisor, said he was loved by fans as a new artist.
“I’ve never met a new artist who was so loved and had so many fans. It takes you years to build that – and that’s what Jake had. Oh my God, he was adored and loved of everyone. Jake had no enemy in the world. He was ready for anything for anyone… and he had very good business sense. There is only one Jake Flint “, she reportedly said.
