David Haye predicted that Anthony Joshua would knock out Oleksandr Usyk in a “devastating” manner next Saturday.
The British heavyweight champion is expected to defend his belts against the former Ukrainian heavyweight king on September 25 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Haye has an up-close experience watching Usyk as he coached Derek Chisora for their fight last year.
Although Chisora was able to use his height to give the undefeated star some trouble at first, he eventually found his rhythm and won on points.
When asked how much trouble he expects Usyk to cause AJ, Haye told iFL TV, “Not much, I don’t think so.
“If Anthony Joshua decides to have a tit-for-tat boxing match – just jabbing and trying to score points – then he would be in trouble, but he’s not stupid enough to do it.
“He’s just going to use his nice jab, use his size and advantage, use his height and weight advantage and his hitting power advantage.
“His physical athletic advantage, his advantage of being able to take hits from big heavyweights.
“He’s just better at everything and it’s going to be pretty devastating. “
Haye even went so far as to describe how he expects the arrival to happen.
He explained, “I saw it in my head, he’s going to hit it with a one-two.
“He might not even have landed, the one-two, but he’s going to land on the left center / jab and knock him down or out.”
