OTTAWA – Two “Jeopardy! Competitors who were taken aback by a clue to Ottawa were offered an all-expenses-paid trip to the capital.

Both contestants breathed in the latest hint from Jeopardy on Tuesday’s show, which asked, “An annual event called Winterlude includes skating on the Rideau Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in this city.”

The correct answer, of course, was Ottawa. And now, Ottawa Tourism invites the two women to experience it for themselves.

“We want to show them what they might have missed,” said Michael Crockatt, president and CEO of Ottawa Tourism, in a statement.

Genesis Whitlock and Amy Schneider are each invited, accompanied by a guest of their choice, to spend three nights in Ottawa during Winterlude.

The offer includes round-trip transportation, hotel accommodations, spending money and “certain activities,” according to the Ottawa Tourism press release.

Whitlock is from Brooklyn, NY and Schneider is from Oakland, California. Crockatt says Ottawa Tourism wants to “open our eyes to the wonders of the world’s largest naturally frozen ice rink, the incredible flavors of beaver tails and the fascinating stories told in some of our country’s best museums.”

Winterlude will take place from February 4 to 21 of next year.
