Crystal Palace manager news: Ange Postecoglou link ridiculed by Celtic legend Kenny Dalglish

The Australian manager reclaimed the Scottish Premiership title in his first season with the Scottish giants but is often linked with a move south of the border.

Crystal Palace, who recently sacked Patrick Vieira as they scramble to maintain their top-flight status, have recently been touted as a potential landing spot.

“There is no background,” said Hoops legend Dalglish.

“He’s done brilliantly at Celtic and that’s got people from the south saying ‘come here’. But are you trying to say Celtic aren’t as big of an adventure as some of the clubs that would have been interested in him?

“Why would he go to the Premier League and be relegated or in a team threatened with relegation? He would rather play at Celtic to win trophies.”

Although he thinks Postecoglou will be happy at Celtic, Dalglish thinks any English club looking for a new boss would be ‘stupid’ not to take notice of his work at Parkhead, where he won three out of four domestic trophies possible since he took the reins. .

“When you’re doing well, there’s always someone else who’s interested, and so he should be,” he said.

“What he’s done for Celtic has been brilliant. If we know what he’s done, every club in England knows it too. Whether they’re attracted to him or not is another thing. , but they will surely appreciate what he did. But even if he was asked, I don’t know if he would go.”
