Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Juventus returned to victory with a 3-0 home win over long-distance club Crotone to keep Andrea Pirlo’s side in the Serie A title race.
Juventus were under scrutiny following the loss to Napoli followed by a Champions League loss to Porto, but the defending champions had a comfortable success to climb to third place in the table.
Pirlo’s side are eight points behind leaders Inter Milan, but they have a game in hand.
The hosts dominated the majority of the first half, but had to wait until the 38th minute to make the breakthrough, with Ronaldo returning home on a cross from Alex Sandro.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner doubled the lead before half-time, this time heading home after Aaron Ramsey put the ball into the box.
Weston McKennie added a third point blank goal after 66 minutes after Crotone failed to clear a corner.
La Liga: Sevilla move up third
Seville are in third place in La Liga after a 2-0 win at Osasuna.
Both half-time goals from Santos Silva and Luuk de Jong sealed a sixth straight league victory and put Sevilla within seven points of top-tier Atletico Madrid.
