Crime Reports: Trick-or-treater gets candy bar with ‘foreign object’ in South Abilene

3700 Block of Ridgemont Drive – Property Theft
Over $350 worth of items, including Apple AirPods, were stolen.

Block 3000 of San Miguel Drive – Fraudulent Use/Possession of Credentials
A victim reported that a known suspect used his personal information to take out a loan.

800 Block of Grape Street – Property Theft
A North Abilene business reported nearly $1,300 in merchandise was stolen, including a wheelchair. The stolen goods have been recovered.

1300 Block of Barrow Street – Theft of Property
A theft has been reported at a department store in South Abilene. Nearly $3,700 in cash and merchandise was stolen. The victim files a complaint.

2200 Block of Titan Street – Gun Theft
A victim reported that a $1,400 AR-15 firearm was stolen from his unlocked vehicle overnight.

2200 Block of South Danville Drive – Criminal Trespass
A landlord reported a man breaking in and told police he had been asked to leave. Police arrested the man when he became combative after an officer also asked him to leave.

3200 Block of South 23rd Street – Criminal Mischief
Two unknown men under the age of 18 allegedly stole two fire extinguishers and used them to spray several vehicles.

Block 2900 Russell Avenue – Domestic Violence
A 66-year-old woman said she was assaulted by her 64-year-old husband during an argument.

Wake Forest Lane Block 3900 – Consumer Product Tampering
A victim reported on Halloween that she received a candy bar containing a “foreign object” in South Abilene.

1900 block of Pine Street – Domestic Violence Assault
A woman reported that her girlfriend hit her in the mouth with a plate. The victim said he wanted to file a complaint.


Gene Rumfield – Public Intoxication
Police were called to respond to a disturbance in the 200 block of Sayles Boulevard. Officers found Rumfield, matching the witness’s description, lying across the street at a local business. The company requested that he be allowed off the property. Rumfield was visibly intoxicated and arrested.

John Cox – Criminal Trespass, Resist Arrest, Search or Transport
Cox was found trespassing on private property in the 2200 block of South Danville Drive. The owner had already asked him to leave and became combative. When the police arrived to chase Cox away, he threw an officer in an attempt to fight back. He resisted arrest but was eventually arrested without injury. Cox is a known mental patient who refused help. He was arrested for similar incidents.

Samuel Starling – Mandate
Officers were dispatched to verify reports of a suspicious person in the Lowden and Cypress streets area. The police discovered that he had a warrant for his arrest.

Andrew Roberts – Domestic Violence Assault
One victim reported that her husband punched her in the mouth with a clenched fist during a verbal argument. Police noted a visible wound to his lower left lip with dried blood, which matches his claim. Roberts allegedly admitted to hitting her after she allegedly spat in his face. The victim wants to press charges and has requested an emergency protective order against Roberts.

Zachary Arnold – Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon, Child Abandonment/Endangerment
Arnold was contacted in the 6000 block of Pueblo Drive about a report of assault. Two victims and a witness told police that Arnold nearly hit a 14-year-old victim with a bat, but instead hit a man who intervened to protect the girl. This victim and Arnold both suffered minor injuries in their fight. Other family members battled Arnold’s bat. The male victim will not press charges.

Gabriel Ditmore – Mandate
Police found Ditmore in downtown Abilene, known to have a warrant for his arrest.

Carlton Lovato – Public Intoxication
Police were called to the Greyhound station in reference to a publicly intoxicated person. Lovato smelled strongly of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. He was kicked off a bus and arrested.

Rochelle Garver – Possession of a Controlled Substance
Garver was contacted in the 2300 block of North 1st Street during a routine traffic stop. She was seen with a narcotic pipe in her hand and admitted to having a controlled substance on her. 14.36 grams of the substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

Kevin Garcia Lendof – Public Intoxication
Garcia Lendof was contacted by the police when he was involved in a fight. Officers could smell alcohol on him and he had small empty vodka bottles on him. Police say he was intoxicated was intoxicated to a point of danger to himself and others.

Elizabeth Dorn – Domestic Violence Assault
Police were called to the 2800 block of Buffalo Gap Road where they found a victim who said his girlfriend assaulted him. The victim said an argument started because Dorn liked photos of her ex-boyfriend on social media. Eventually, according to the victim, Dorn slapped him, scratched him and pulled his hair. The victim’s mother was called in to look after their infant son.

Clayton Woodyard – Possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance
Officers were dispatched for a disturbance at an Allsup store in the 1700 block of Highway 351. Woodyard called APD, making paranoid claims. On Woodyard’s person, police found a knife, a marijuana pipe, two scales, numerous syringes, methamphetamine and marijuana.
