Crime Reports: Intoxicated woman rushes into Abilene restaurant after husband ‘was a vampire’ | KTA

Abilene man woke up to intruder ‘hiding from police’

Editor’s Note: The following arrest and incident reports were provided by the Abilene Police Department. All of the information below comes from reports written by responding officers, and all suspects are considered not guilty unless a court orders otherwise.

Incidents

Block 300 of rue Fannin – Home burglary
A victim reports that a known suspect entered their locked rental home and took tools worth $195, damaging doors, windows and walls inside the home.

Block 4100 of Ridgemont Drive – Forgery Financial

A business notified police of suspicious activity over the weekend. A complaint for forgery is under investigation.

Block 3500 of Chimney Rock Road – Gun theft
A victim reported that an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle and took weapons worth $395.

3000 block of N 6e Street – criminal mischief
A victim reported that an unknown suspect smashed the driver’s side window. No items were reported missing.

Block 1600 Fannin Street – Fraudulent Possession/Use of Credit or Debit Card <5
A known suspect allegedly has a female victim’s credit card information. The investigation is ongoing.

Block 2000 of Summers Street – Assault, domestic violence
One victim said she was assaulted by her 17-year-old child and felt pain during a physical altercation, but no medical attention was needed. The 17-year-old went to live with a relative to avoid any further incidents.

Block of 300 EN 14e Street – Theft of property
A man reported that his two tenants stole it

3400 Block of Ambler Avenue – Assault
A victim reported that an unruly customer entered their workplace and started an altercation that turned physical when the victim was struck in the ear with a mop handle.

Block 1100 Victoria Street – Aggravated Assault – Serious bodily harm
A victim reported that a known suspect threw a broken plate at her head, causing serious bodily injury. The suspect was missing by the time officers arrived at the scene.

300 Block of Shelton Street – Property Theft
A victim reported that a catalytic converter was cut/stolen from his vehicle while it was parked in the driveway of a house on the north side.

1300 Block of Clinton Street – Property Theft
A victim reported that her ex-boyfriend stole a vehicle which she took back from him for non-payment. All attempts to obtain the vehicle, worth $2,500, have failed, so she is seeking to press charges.

Block 6100 Texas Avenue #161 – Domestic Violence Assault
One victim reported that her partner assaulted her.

8000 Block of Tuscany Drive – Assault, Domestic Violence
One victim reported an assault, claiming her airway was blocked and she had been sexually assaulted. A suspect has been arrested for domestic violence.

Arrests

NAME DELETED – Fireworks Violation
A Butternut Street person received a misdemeanor citation for a fireworks violation.

Steven Sheppard – Aggression Domestic Violence

Sheppard is accused of physically assaulting his wife during a verbal argument, pushing her to the ground by the neck and knocking her down.

Elydia Arthur – Public Intoxication
A food delivery driver reported that Arthur fell into a North Abilene restaurant while making a delivery and refused to come out, so he called to report her as a trespasser. When the officers arrived, Arthur was standing next to the delivery driver’s 18-wheeler and refused to believe the officer was a police officer. During the conversation with the police, Arthur seemed paranoid and was not following instructions. She then said she was in an argument with her husband and took “Seroquel” and woke up to her husband “being a vampire”. She tried to walk away and was behaving erratically, so she was arrested for public drunkenness. Once in prison, Arthur continued to be uncooperative and belligerent towards prison staff.
