Young CREWE Zac Williams was named Man of the Match in his win over Gillingham yesterday – and received Jaffa Cakes as a prize.
Williams, 16, put in an impressive performance in defense for the Railroaders as they defeated fellow League 1 Gillingham 2-0 at Gresty Road.

His display earned him the Man of the Match prize, he could not receive the traditional champagne prize because he is still a minor.
Instead, she was hilariously given a packet of Jaffa cakes and ready-made savory crisps and pictured looking delighted in her post-game transport.
Williams, real name Michael but known as Zac to his teammates, made a name for himself as captain of the Welsh Under-16 team.
He only started once for Crewe the day before yesterday, in their 3-0 EFL Trophy win over Wolves Under-21 earlier this month.
But could now become a more consistent element in their bottom line, with the club in desperate need of inspiration to avoid relegation this season.
Fans took to social media to praise Williams’ performance, with @ Will_Barnes95 commenting, “Years ahead of his age. It looked like he had been playing at this level for years!”

Another added: “A fantastic performance. As well as the whole team. Now it’s time for the next game.”
The club are currently the lowest in League One, with their win over Gillingham just their second of the season.
The day before yesterday, Crewe had not won in the league since mid-September and will need a huge second half of the season to beat the drop in League Two.
The victory puts them five points behind Gillingham in 20th place, and they face tough trips to Wimbledon and Ipswich on Tuesday and Sunday this week.
The club were promoted to third tier in English football in 2019-2020 on the basis of the points-per-game average after the Ligue 2 season ended due to Covid-19.
And had a good first season in League One last year, finishing 12th, with former Gillingham striker Mikel Mandron their top scorer with 11 goals.
But manager David Artell has a job to do to reverse the club’s poor form, but will no doubt be delighted with Williams’ performance yesterday and his well-deserved victory.
