The incidence rate
Week after week, the incidence rate of covid-19 cases in Brittany, that is, the number of new cases diagnosed by PCR test in the past seven days, plummets. This Friday, it stood at 15.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, a decrease of 9.8 points in one week. The positivity rate is 0.8%.
This week, the drop is more marked in Ille-et-Vilaine, with -14.1 points, to 13 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Finistère is the Breton department with the highest incidence rate, but also in sharp decline (20, -8.6), ahead of Morbihan (17.7; -6) and Côtes-d’Armor (10, 7; -8.9).
Another indicator in decline in Brittany, that of the number of hospitalized patients : 347 hospitalizations in progress (-36 compared to Friday, June 18) and 25 patients in the intensive care units of Breton hospitals (-13). Seven deaths are to be deplored in the past seven days. The death toll therefore climbs to 1,650 hospital deaths.
The number of new cases is also declining. Brittany recorded 513 in one week, bringing to 144,256 the number of people infected in the region since the start of the epidemic. Among these new cases, 183 are in Finistère, 151 in Ille-et-Vilaine, 124 in Morbihan and 55 in Côtes-d’Armor.
Brittany currently has 20 clusters under investigation (-6) by ARS Bretagne: 9 in Finistère, 7 in Morbihan, 4 in Ille-et-Vilaine and none in Côtes-d’Armor.
In Brittany, 53.3% of the population (all ages combined) received at least one dose of vaccine, i.e. 2,819,320 injections on the date of June 24 in the evening. By department, the number of vaccinations amounts to 814,688 in Ille-et-Vilaine, 795,769 in Finistère, 655,603 in Morbihan and 553,260 in Côtes-d’Armor.
