Conor McGregor returns to training after surgery as he trains on pads and promises “greatest comeback in sports history”

CONOR MCGREGOR channeled Arnie as he returned to training after a broken leg.

The Notorious hit the pads for the first time since the horror break and swore “I’ll be back”.

McGregor fractured his shin in the loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July.

But the 33-year-old took to his Instagram account to share a video of himself returning to the gym and promised a comeback for the ages.

He wrote: First time back on the pads! What a buzz! The @mcgregorfast team has started!

“As my good friend @schwarzenegger says, ‘I’ll be back, b!’ Back with a vengeance!

“Thank you to all my doctors and my team for allowing me to arrive so quickly after the operation! There is work to be done, but doing work is what I am known for.

“Slip on for the biggest comeback in sports history! #champchampppvmilliardaireking ”

McGregor was medically suspended by UFC officials until January.

Early reports suggested he would be out for 12 MONTHS after undergoing surgery in Los Angeles.

The two-weight world champion will be eager to return to the Octagon.

He eliminated Poirier in 2014, but lost the rematch by knockout in January.

And after the unprecedented end of their trilogy fight, the lightweight rivals opened the door to a FOURTH fight against each other.
