Club president issues Rafael Leao update as AC Milan ‘up the offer’ in contract talks with Chelsea target
afael Leao is “comfortable and motivated” at AC Milan despite rumors of interest from Chelsea, according to the Italian club’s president.
Paolo Scaroni has given his opinion on the ongoing contract negotiations between the Rossoneri and Portuguese striker Leao, whose contract expires in 18 months.
Chelsea are one of several teams linked with the player and reports in Italy suggest Milan have raised their offer to persuade him to stay.
According to SportMediaset, via TMW, they are ready to pay Leao £115,000 a week as talks are underway between Milan representatives Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara with the winger’s side in Dubai.
And Scaroni described his confidence that Milan will get the deal.
“They tell me that in Milan he is very comfortable, that he is motivated,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I know that Maldini is negotiating with him and for what I just said: if he is negotiating, I’m calm.”
