Chimney Rock area streets closed for ongoing Buffalo Gap Road construction

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – During the week of November 7, Chimney Rock Road will be closed for improvements as part of the road construction project which began earlier this year.

The closure will take place from Chimney Rock Road, Hunter’s Circle to Broken Bough Trail. According to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), construction will begin Nov. 7 and will last about a week, weather permitting.

There will however be access to the Hunter’s Circle during this time. The Abilene and Wylie ISDs have been notified so bus drivers can prepare for any effect this closure may have on bus routes.

This road improvement is part of Abilene Road Safety Projectrunning from Danville Drive to Chimney Rock Road, which is expected to be completed in the summer of 2024.
