While a new, more egalitarian Constitution is being drafted, José Antonio Kast, a far-right candidate with a backward-looking discourse, could win in the second round of the presidential election on December 19. Her victory would put a damper on the feminist movement that was at the heart of the 2019 popular uprising against socio-economic inequality. But whatever the outcome of the vote, feminists and transgender activists intend to continue their fight.
