Chelsea v Man City: team news

Chelsea have almost a fully fit squad to choose from, although Fran Kirby remains unavailable due to fatigue.

Kirby is back in individual training without having played since February, but the final may be too close for her to be involved.

As for City, Vicky Losada has returned from injury against Reading and could be in contention to start.

However, Jess Park faces a race against time to get fit after missing the club’s final game of the season as she continues her comeback.

Chelsea v Man City: Record attendance

This weekend’s clash is set to break records for appearances in a Women’s FA Cup final.

The current mark was set when Chelsea beat Arsenal at Wembley in 2018 with 45,423 spectators.

Sunday’s game is set to break that, with the FA recently announcing that over 50,000 tickets have already been sold.

Chelsea v Man City: what was said?

While the focus is currently on the FA Cup, it was the push to win the WSL title that Hayes praised his team for in an interview with talkSPORT.

“We chased all season, we knew we hadn’t gotten off to a great start and I think that challenge was one my team thrived on.” said Hayes.

“For some reason they seemed to perform better in difficult times, whether it was down ten players, losing to Arsenal in the first game of the season, whether they were 2-1 behind.

“And Erin Cuthbert told me, we played in the first half like we had something to lose, and in the second half we played like we had everything to gain.”

She continued, “Because we’ve been used to winning for so long, this challenge resonates with the group the most this year, and that’s why we were victorious.”
