harlton have sacked manager Ben Garner, the club have confirmed.
The south London side have won just five of their 20 matches so far this season, and club owner Thomas Sandgaard said recent form had left the club in a situation where they “had to to act”.
Garner joined Charlton in the summer after leading Swindon in the League Two play-offs last season.
“We want to thank Ben for his hard work and commitment to the job,” Sandgaard said.
“During his time at Charlton, the club achieved some remarkable results, including big wins against some of the best teams in this league.
“Unfortunately we have not been able to maintain consistency of results and our position in the league and our recent form have left us in a situation where we have had to act to give ourselves the best opportunity to make the most of this season and to build a positive and winning environment for the years to come.
“We wish Ben the best for the future. Our search for a new manager has begun.”
