The Spain midfielder is happy to play for compatriot Mikel Arteta, with his game improving all the time at the Emirates Stadium.
Dani Ceballos has explained the reasons for his second loan spell at Arsenal, with the Spain midfielder saying he had ‘improved’ considerably during his time at Emirates Stadium.
The 24-year-old initially partnered with the Gunners in the summer of 2019.
His creative qualities were to be put to good use in English football, but he drifted in and out of the team under Unai Emery.
Another compatriot has since taken the reins of Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta ready to give Ceballos some regular playing time.
These outings would have taken the chic playmaker’s game to greater heights, with the decision to leave the Santiago Bernabeu in consecutive campaigns being justified.
Ceballos told Arsenal official site: “There is nothing more important than a coach who trusts you and asks you to come back. That’s why I made the decision to come back to this club. The pressure he put on the club to bring me back here was key.
“The main reason I decided to come back was because I really had confidence in the project Mikel led. We did pretty well at the end of last season, and I think it was the confidence that the coach and my teammates showed in me that brought me back to this great club.
“I said in Madrid that I wanted to come back to Arsenal because during the first year I had learned a lot about a new league. I had improved a lot physically and tactically, and after Mikel’s arrival, the level of my football improved. I think the best decision for me this year has been to stay in the Premier League with Arsenal and continue working with a manager like Mikel Arteta.
“Since joining Arsenal I have become a much more mature player and I am making better decisions. People knew about my offensive game, but nobody knew that winning duels and collecting the ball could also be part of my game. I think I improved that side of my game a lot – the same goes for my positioning on field.
“I think the FA Cup the victory was really important to give us confidence in this season. I think we have to build on that this season.
“I think this team has a lot of good players and a lot of room for improvement, and I have absolutely no doubts that we are going to achieve great things. If we all pull in the same direction and if we all stick together, it will be much easier. I’m sure this team has everything they need to be successful.
Ceballos, who admitted that he intends to return to Madrid at the end of the season, won 60 appearances for Arsenal during his two stays in north London.
