Can negative reviews devour Abilene’s restaurant scene?

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Negative social media reviews and comments can make or break a business. Maria Ramirez shared that she often reads and leaves restaurant reviews when traveling to Abilene from out of town, but in her experience, positive reviews don’t always get posted.

“If you have a really good experience, like you’ll let others know, but I don’t think people would really go out of their way to post this review on social media,” Ramirez explained.

Dawn Larios of the Texas Restaurant Association said restaurants are still recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic.

“There again in survival mode, the question of the labor shortage, it’s still in effect, you have inflation, it’s still in effect. The demand for supplies, you know that has been a problem,” Larios explained.

Larios asks the community to keep in mind that reviews stay true to the reputation of the restaurant.
