Sad news this Thursday morning. Nimbus, the Saint Bernard, died during the night. He did not survive his dehydration, which occurred last weekend. His owner had been scrambling all week to get him out of the woods.
It was while taking the road, Sunday, July 18, to come on vacation to Paimpol that Audrey Marchand and her husband, originally from Maubeuge, realized that something was wrong with two of their three dogs. “Lulu was whistling and couldn’t even walk …” she told the Telegram. The Saint-Bernard is the victim of a big heat stroke. “We had water with us, but there were liters we needed”. The dog will die on arrival at the Paimpol veterinary clinic.
Death in the night from Wednesday to Thursday
Attention immediately turned to the other Saint Bernard, Nimbus, also severely dehydrated. Her condition initially improved after one night at the clinic. But it quickly deteriorated during the week. “He only eats semi-liquid foods. We need to change his infusions every hour. He has to be transported on a stretcher, he has trouble urinating, ”explained Audrey, who has always considered her dogs to be full members of her family.
She then launched a call on Facebook to find a last-minute rental to stay longer in Brittany and tried to save it. Because the state of Nimbus did not allow a return to Maubeuge this Saturday. Unfortunately, we learned of the dog’s death on the night of Wednesday to Thursday.
