Brighton ‘contacted’ over Tariq Lamptey as Sporting Lisbon defender offers eye loan as Pedro Porro closes in on Tottenham transfer

Sporting Lisbon have ‘contacted’ Brighton over a loan move for Tariq Lamptey, with full-back Pedro Porro closing in on a move to Tottenham.
Porro has a release clause in his contract with the Portuguese side worth £40million which is generating significant interest in his services.

And they could bring in Lamptey, who has struggled for time at Brighton this season, as a replacement for Porro
Spurs are hoping to persuade his employers to accept a package worth less than the amount, but talkSPORT understands they are confident the deal will go through.
This will make the Portuguese side short of a full-back and The Athletic report that they have asked the Seagulls for more Lamptey.
Sporting are reportedly looking to bring in Lamptey until the end of the season for the Ghana international, who has made just one Premier League start this term.
Antonio Conte has made signing a right-back his top priority this transfer window.
Porro joined Sporting from Manchester City in 2021 after failing to make a first-team appearance for the Premier League champions.
Since then, the right-back has made 97 appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals and picking up 20 assists along the way.

The full-back could move before the end of the January transfer window
Chelsea are also keen on the player, but it looks like Tottenham are leading the hunt to secure a deal.
It remains to be seen what this means for Matt Doherty, Emerson Royal and Djed Spence, who are all currently part of Conte’s first team and can play at right-back.
