At Shahrukh Khan’s Pathan aired today to roaring crowds marking King Khan’s return to the big screen after nearly five years. The film has already broken several records. Directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra, Pathan is the latest installment in the YRF spy universe. Starring Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and Dimple Kapadia, the film was eagerly awaited by fans.

Most Advanced Reservations
The film sold over 4.10 lakh in advance tickets across three national cinema chains – PVR, Inox and Cinepolis. The film is expected to break the record set by giants like War and KGF 2 (Hindi). Apart from the huge early booking response in Hindi, the film has also garnered significant interest in the South in terms of early bookings.
Total tickets sold
Besides advance reservations, moviegoers buy tickets wherever they are available. Ashish Saksena, COO – Cinemas, BookMyShow, told India Today that over one million tickets have already been sold.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh reports that some 300 shows were added after the first day one show. Pathaan now has the most screens of any Hindi version – it plays on 8,000 screens worldwide. 2,500 of them are overseas, according to a report by NDTV.
100 countries
With Shah Rukh Khan’s wide international appeal and a five-year hiatus, the film garnered considerable interest in countries around the world. The film is screened in over 100 countries and has the biggest release of any Hindi film of all time.
First Hindi film to have shows at 6 a.m.
With screenings filling up quickly in formats such as IMAX 2D, CGV 4DX 2D, D-BOX 2D, PVR P and CGR ICE 2D, there are also 6 a.m. shows.
