Dustin writes: A new grocery store opened nearby and I suggested taking out for dinner. My wife refused, telling me, “The sandwiches are for lunch. I believe that a sandwich can be enjoyed at any time of the day. Who is right ?
If there’s one thing we’ve learned this year, it’s that you can eat anything anytime. Now that the blockages have (at least currently) eased here, I understand why your wife might be trying to re-assert some order. I admit that breakfast for dinner is less delicious since it has been stripped of its transgressive schedule now that you can eat bacon-egg-cheese on top every hour. But I suspect she’s just a snob. The occasional evening sandwich is a delight, especially in summer, when the world’s best dinner is sliced tomato, mayonnaise, and black pepper on toast white bread. But please stop eating a whole roasted turkey and stuffing for breakfast. That time is over.
