The alert was given at 1:48 a.m. overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday. An old breeding building, located at a place called Beaucroix, in the town of Saint-Carreuc, caught fire. In this large 2,500 m² hangar were now stored around a hundred old cars, several tonnes of chemical fertilizer and around fifteen gas cylinders, which caused a few explosions and raised fears of the worst for the firefighters involved in this intervention.
There were no casualties in the fire and the two neighboring businesses were saved from the flames. The material damage was significant, however, since most of the building burned down and the rest collapsed. At 7 a.m., firefighters were still on site.
