The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) released industry sales figures for May 2022. It reported annual growth of 207%. The dealership body also revealed that after a series of follow-ups, Andhra Pradesh has now moved on to registering new vehicles on the Vahan portal. Now only the states of Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and Lakshadweep need to migrate to the new portal. The Vahan Portal is the e-governance application that automates RTO operations related to vehicle registration, licensing, taxation and enforcement. Another Sarathi application is a fully computerized database of driver’s licenses, driver’s licenses, driving school licenses and fees.

The Vahan and Sarathi (VS) is a process automation application for RTOs to automate all RC, DC and related activities. Citizens get many benefits from the cloud version of the new VS 4.0. They can avail many services through these apps on the Parivahan Sewa portal.
Services provided by Vahan and Sarathi and how will vehicle buyers benefit from them?
Vahan and Sarathi apps provide a range of services ranging from vehicle registration, licensing, taxation, fitness, driving schools, learner’s permit, driver’s license and all other related processes on the Parivahan Sewa portal.
Citizens can apply online for a new learner’s license, driver’s license, request changes of details, make payment for various fees and taxes, on the Parivahan Sewa portal, activated through the Vahan and Sarathi.
All information and services from every state Department of Transportation can be accessed online through this portal, eliminating the need to visit transportation offices. Citizens save money and time by taking advantage of all the services of the online transport office on the portal.
The app also allows transporters to apply online for the renewal of the National Permit for Goods Transport Vehicles on the Parivahan Sewa portal. Carriers can pay the permit fee through the online payment system on the portal and obtain the downloadable permit. The portal also helps traffic officers seamlessly access vehicle information.
