The calm period is over after the Fed’s decision on Wednesday.
Fed’s Waller is on the wires saying:
- A soft landing is a plausible outcome for the US labor market
Next week’s US jobs data, ISM data will give traders and Fed officials a better look at the economy. The Fed’s Powell said rate decisions would depend on data going forward. That’s not to say the Fed is on a bull or no bull trajectory, but 25, 50, and 75 basis points may be an option. The Fed doesn’t meet for 8 weeks. As a result, there are 2 sets of data that the market and the Fed will be able to see.
