Police seized eight live bombs from a village in Bihar’s Vaishali district on Sunday, four days before the panchayat polls in the area, an official said. The bombs were seized from Javaj village under the jurisdiction of the Mahnar police station and deactivated, it said.
“These bombs were immediately defused by a team of local police officers who arrived at the scene soon after receiving information. The police have launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter. The police are already on high alert in light of the upcoming panchayat surveys in the area. All the live bombs were kept in a plastic bag, “said Deputy Inspector Manoj Kumar. More investigations are underway, he said, adding that some people are being questioned.
