Japanese data at 23:50 GMT
The “ANZ Commodity Price” date is from New Zealand, scheduled for 0100 GMT.
Australian data includes monthly inflation data from TD/Melbourne Institute. This is a guide to inflation in Australia that helps bridge the gaps between official releases of CPI data, released only once a quarter. The frequency of official data (lack of) is considered a joke:
The Reserve Bank of Australia will note the monthly TD/MI survey result ahead of the RBA meeting on Tuesday July 5, 2022 (reporting expected at 04:30 GMT). We recently heard from Governor Lowe of the Reserve Bank of Australia telling us that the debate is between a 0.25% to 0.5% hike. Given the rapid rise in inflation expectations:
- Australia inflation expectations (June Melbourne Institute survey) 6.7% (previously 5.0%)
the 50 bp option seems more appropriate (IMHO).
