An investigation was opened on Wednesday, June 9, for public provocation to the murder following the broadcast of a video of the far-right youtubeur Papacito simulating the execution of a voter of La France insoumise (LFI), announced the Paris prosecutor’s office.
In detail, the investigation is opened by the head of “Public provocation not followed by effect to the commission of attacks on the life or the integrity of the persons”, according to the prosecution. The investigations were entrusted to the brigade for the repression of delinquency against the person.
Papacito released a video simulating the murder of an LFI voter. This video was strongly denounced by the leader of the movement and presidential candidate, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who announced on Monday the filing of a complaint. Fabien Roussel (French Communist Party), another presidential candidate, also announced “Seize the prosecutor” because the Communists were also designated there as targets.

In his video posted on Sunday – which has since been deleted by YouTube after being viewed more than 100,000 times – Papacito says: “There are 6% of people who vote for Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s party in this country, perhaps they will be destitute if something unforeseen happens in the coming years”.
“What can we do for these people? “, quips the identity videographer decked out in a military fatigues. He says he undertakes to “ see if the material of the guy who votes Mélenchon allows him to resist a potential terrorist attack on the territory ”, before shooting, alongside a friend, with firearms, at the mannequin representing an LFI voter, then stabbed. “So, of course, the point of this video is not to engage you in producing violence, it is purely experimental”, specifies the youtubeur to 112,000 subscribers.
“The government of the Republic condemns without reservation and in the strongest manner” this video, declared Tuesday the Prime Minister, Jean Castex, in the National Assembly.
