“Twenty fires in natural areas” broke out in Morbihan this Saturday, the Prefecture announced at the end of the afternoon. At least 120 machines and 350 firefighters are mobilized in the department this Saturday, going from one fire to another. While some fires have been extinguished, others have still not been brought under control at the start of the evening. We take stock.

A fire broke out around 1 p.m. this Saturday in Saint-Philibert, behind Men er Beleg beach. He was brought under control in the afternoon.

“The fire started from the land (Chemin des Goémoniers, editor’s note) which we rent as parking during the summer. It spread at high speed to reach the Vuitton subdivision, ”explained Mayor François Le Cotillec.

A backfire also broke out at the nearby Kernevest lighthouse. A room was opened to accommodate evacuees.

Around noon, a big wildfire broke out in Questembert on the outskirts of the hamlet of Bocaran. Several hectares of brush have gone up in smoke.

By 5 p.m., the fire was contained but firefighters remained on site to prevent a possible resumption of flames.

In Vannes at 11 a.m., a new outbreak of fire took place not far from the Kerino tunnel. The flames developed along René-de-Kerviler Avenue, at the bottom of the Kérino hill, as well as on an agricultural field adjoining the latter. The fire was extinguished before 3 p.m.

A fire broke out this Saturday in the Ti en kis / Kerio sector of the municipality of Locoal-Mendon. A large plume of smoke from the ongoing fire was seen from Lorient.

On Facebook, the town hall of Locoal-Mendon asked residents to avoid the RD16 and appealed: “Need tons of water or any other transportable water supply that can help fight the fire. »

The east of the department is burning, and the west comes as reinforcements. The firefighters of the country of Lorient and Hennebont are also mobilized on the fires which affect Morbihan this Saturday.
