Best Fantasy Week 8 Waiver Pickups: Eagles replacement Kenneth Gainwell replaces Miles Sanders, Russell Gage bursts

Considering that six teams were goodbye, it’s no surprise that there weren’t many breakout performances or major injuries on Sunday. There were a few, however, as Miles Sanders (ankle) came out early and opened the door for the popular preseason sleeper. Kenneth gainwell to take over at RB. A few pass catchers also stepped up, with Russell gage scoring in his first return leg, Rashod bateman continuing the impressive start to his rookie season, and CJ Ouzomah throwing his hat in the ring as Escape TE of the Year. All will be among our top week 8 fantastic waiver thread pickups and free agent additions in a week that lacks a lot of high quality options.

However, what we lack in quality, we make up for in quantity. Our full list of free agents has several more interesting WRs (Allen Lazard, Darius slayton, Kalif Raymond), some valid handcuffs (Brandon bolden, Devonta Freeman), and a few key players returning from injury (Rashaad Penny, Michael gallup, Tre’Quan Smith). And while there are only two Week 8 byes (Raiders, Ravens), we also have a ton of suggestions for Week 8 streamers at QB, WR, TE, and D / ST, which can be found. on the end of this list.

CONTINUED WEEK 8: Complete waiver list

Gainwell is going to order a higher waiver request unless we get bullish news on Sanders before Tuesday night (which we likely won’t). Depending on how Penny performed on Monday night, he might demand a high claim as well. Other than those two, chances are you won’t use a waiver request unless you really need help in a certain position or want one of the IR guys back. (Also check if yours is in the 26% of Yahoo leagues where Jerry Jeudy is available.)

All in all, he’s a poor man derogations week but a strong free agent the week. There are a bunch of widely available and decent players, especially at QB, TE and D / ST, with favorable games this week. Don’t settle for a borderline player with a poor to poor match just because they’re already on your roster. Always seek to improve yourself. As long as you don’t lose a legitimately good player with a long-term uptick, check the matches and consider some of these streamers.

Best Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 8

Unless otherwise specified, only players belonging to less than 50% of Yahoo leagues are considered.

Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Eagles. Gainwell caught a 13-yard touchdown on Philadelphia’s first practice, then led the backfield after Miles Sanders injured his ankle. He finished the day with 71 total yards and a 10-touchdown touchdown, although it’s worth noting that he actually had one less reach than Boston Scott, who also scored. Gainwell expects to operate in the lead of Week 8 in a favorable clash against Detroit if Sanders can’t go, giving him an RB2 value, especially in the PPR leagues. Gainwell saw eight targets (many in garbage time), eclipsing Scott’s two targets.

Russell Gage, WR, Falcons. Gage was a popular preseason sleeper, but a slow start and an ankle injury derailed him quickly. He returned to the field in Week 7 and immediately made his presence felt, catching four of six targets for 67 yards and one score. He believes he’s the Falcons’ No.3 target, but given how often Atlanta throws, there’s still a lot of potential value there. Gage flexed backwards against a struggling Carolina defense in Week 8.

Rashod Bateman, WR, Ravens. Bateman had a decent performance on his season debut in Week 6, and he went on to catch three of six targets for 80 yards in Week 7. At the very least, the talented rookie has a big play potential every week, and it seems like it’s only scratching the surface. He’s been aided by the absence of Sammy Watkins (hamstring) – and he’s clearly no higher than third in the pecking order behind Marquise Brown and Mark Andrews – but Bateman is worth hiding for the second half.

CJ Uzomah, TE, Bengals. Uzomah continued his breakout season in Week 7, catching his three targets for 91 yards and two scores. It’s been all or nothing most of the time, but that’s true for most of the TE’s of waiver threads. With five touchdowns in his last four games, there’s still a lot to love here. A favorable clash against the Jets in Week 8 puts him squarely in the conversation of streamers.

Darius Slayton, WR, Giants. Slayton may be nothing more than a weeklong lightning bolt, as Kadarius Toney (ankle), Kenny Golladay (knee), and Sterling Shepard (hamstrings) were all out in week 7, but we know Slayton is talented and capable of big plays. He’s led the Giants in targets (9) and receiving yards (63) against the Panthers, and if any of the three players mentioned above is out next week against Kansas City, Slayton will be in play as that flex boom-or-bust.
