Ben White joins Arsenal in Dubai on England’s World Cup exit day following reports of ‘bust up’

BEN WHITE has returned to Arsenal training after withdrawing from the England camp earlier this month.

The Gunners defender has joined his teammates in Dubai, having left the Three Lions side on November 30 for personal reasons.

England boss Gareth Southgate has played down reports the former Brighton man left following a rift with assistant Steve Holland.

White arrived in the Middle East on Saturday before taking part in his first session with the team on Sunday ahead of their friendly match against AC Milan on Tuesday at Al-Maktoum Stadium.

Ghana international Thomas Partey has also returned to training with the club after failing to make it out of the squad in Qatar, while United States goalkeeper Matt Turner is back after being knocked out in the round of 16 by the Netherlands.

All three could be involved against AC Milan on Tuesday night.

Granit Xhaka, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Gabriel Martinelli are all set to return to training this week ahead of the Premier League’s return after Christmas.

It’s unclear when English duo Bukayo Saka and Aaron Ramsdale will join their club mates, although they are expected to have a vacation before returning.

Oleksandr Zinchenko was not part of the main group training in Dubai as he continues to recover from a minor calf problem.

The injury is unrelated to the calf problem the former Manchester City man suffered in September which forced him into a month out.

The Gunners are confident the Ukraine international will be fit for the Premier League’s return, with Arsenal back in action on Boxing Day when they host London rivals West Ham.

Before that, they will face two friendlies against Italian clubs, AC Milan in Dubai before welcoming Juventus to the Emirates on December 17.
