Ben Chilwell’s hamstring injury ‘doesn’t look positive’, admits Chelsea boss Graham Potter

Raham Potter has revealed Ben Chilwell’s injury ‘doesn’t look positive’ as the winger limped off late in Chelsea’s win over Dinamo Zagreb.

The wing-back stopped deep in stoppage time at Stamford Bridge, immediately clutching his hamstring and fell to the turf, looking distressed, before hobbling onto the pitch with help from the staff full-time Chelsea doctor.

With the World Cup in Qatar just weeks away, any concerns over potential injuries are heightened and there are now clear fears over Chilwell’s involvement for England.

It remains to be seen how serious the problem turns out to be, though Potter was worried after the game.

“It doesn’t look positive, it’s a hamstring [injury]”Potter told BT Sport.

“We’ll have to scan it and see how it is.”
