The Islamic Republic and the Jewish State are locked in a decades-long secret war of intelligence, cyberattacks, sabotage and assassination, with Tehran denying Israel’s right to exist and Tel Aviv preparing contingencies for airstrikes against facilities associated with Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.
Israel’s security is declining precipitously amid Iran’s daily operations against Israel, said Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Al-Quds Force Commander Esmail Qaani.
Underscoring Iran’s support for Palestine, Qaani suggested that Palestinian resistance groups were making arrangements to deliver a final blow against the “decayed body of the Zionist regime” when the time came, and that Palestinian militants had accumulated sufficient military capabilities for a self-sufficient struggle.
The commander did not specify or provide details on the nature of these covert operations.
Qaani took over as the IRGC’s elite Al-Quds Force in January 2020 after the US assassination of veteran Al-Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani, who led the force in operations against Daesh (ISIS)*, al-Qaeda* and other jihadist groups in Syria and Iraq, and provided advisory assistance to the Lebanese Hezbollah militia during the 2006 Lebanon War against Israel.
