At 100, a former Masonic Home Mighty Mites teacher is long retired but still teaching

Lord and Walraven had been two of about a dozen previous students who attended as special attendees Sunday when Texas Wesleyan College threw an early birthday occasion for Marie Glick.

Mrs. Glick’s spouse, Walter, was a Wesleyan dean, vice president and historical past professor over a 35-calendar year job. Their previous property in the vicinity of the campus will be devoted Friday as the Glick Residence Local community Counseling Heart.

But Marie Glick is also remembered for her work as a trainer and principal at Masonic Home, which served survivors and descendants of Texas Masons.

She arrived in 1933 at age 25 as a typing trainer from the University of Texas at Austin and retired in 1974 as principal.

“She was the most loving trainer you can visualize,” said Miller Moseley, 85, a previous soccer star who went on to get the job done on the Planet War II atomic bomb challenge.

“And she was demanding. You did not loaf.”

Marie Glick seemed about the reception home at Polytechnic United Methodist Church, her Sunday residence for approximately 70 many years.
