The High Court in London on Monday authorized WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to challenge a court decision authorizing his extradition to the United States before the British Supreme Court.

In December, this court overturned on appeal the refusal to extradite the 50-year-old Australian to the United States, where he faces up to 175 years in prison for the dissemination, from 2010, of more than 700,000 classified documents on US military and diplomatic activities, particularly in Iraq and Afghanistan.
