“I think he has a different presence – he brings something different to the team,” Arteta said. “It’s not just about talent, it’s not just about physique, it’s who he is as a person.
“He makes the players better around him and that’s a very great quality.
“It’s amazing that we are in January, we signed him in October and we only played against him [a handful of times]. “
Partey has completed 2.6 dribbles every 90 minutes in his five Premier League outings and attempted 3.25 tackles per game, which no other Arsenal player can match.
And although the north London side have won just one of those five matches, down from six wins in 12 league games without him, Arteta has admitted Arsenal missed the midfielder’s presence.
“We didn’t really see the impact he could have on the team. Obviously we missed him. I think it will be a big bonus if we can keep him in shape,” he said. -he declares.
“When you’re injured you first feel the responsibility when the club put in the effort that we made to sign him.
“He was so willing for months to join us. He really wants to be a part of it and knows how much he can help.
“Then he had to deal with injuries, lockdown and moving to a new location, and it was tough for him.
“That’s why sometimes he would rush in and want to do everything right away, because he was so ready to come back, he didn’t want to be home alone.
“He is really well placed, he is very well installed in the locker room, around the staff. He is a special character and I hope we can finally see him on the pitch.”
