Arsenal fans were able to celebrate properly for the first time in a long time, winning the North London derby in style as they beat rivals Tottenham.
After the FA Cup success in his debut season in the Emirates, life hasn’t exactly been amazing under Mikel Arteta, however, the 3-1 win over Spurs made up for a poor start to the season.
The youth-inspired Gunners took off blocks with three first-half goals helping them claim bragging rights and bring a smile to all Arsenal fans.
Nowhere more than on the face of former Arsenal great Ian Wright, whose reaction to goals quickly went viral.
Appearing in a TV studio with Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle, Wright couldn’t contain his glee as young Gunners Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe scrambled.
Wright couldn’t help but scream as Saka prepared Smith Rowe for a 12th minute opener, and was taken out of his seat when the latter assisted Pierre Emerick Aubameyang just before the half hour mark.
Wright was then seen shouting “This is a big day, this is a big day, this is a big day” as Saka put the game to bed, made all the more amusing by the downcast look on his face. from Hoddle opposite.
Tottenham had previously dominated the Premier League under new boss Nuno Espirito Santo, winning their first three games while Arsenal were at the bottom of the table after losing theirs.
However, their situations have now changed completely, with Arsenal winning three on the rebound meaning Spurs have three straight league losses.
