Arsenal given transfer boost as Mudryk reveals his Premier League dream and wants to develop as hero Cristiano Ronaldo

ARSENAL have been given a big boost in their pursuit of Mykhaylo Mudryk, after he revealed it was his dream to play in the Premier League.

Mudryk, 21, has been linked with a move to a number of clubs before moving away from current club Shakhtar Donetsk, with English sides among those monitoring his progress.

And in a big boost for the Gunners, Mudryk has revealed it’s possible for him to play in the league one day.

He told The Times: “Yes, yes, it’s possible (to come to the Premier League).

“The Premier League is the best league in the world and everyone wants to play in this league.”

Mudryk has caught the eye with his performances this season, with star performances in both Champions League games against RB Leipzig and Celtic, putting him top of the goal contributions chart in the competition with four .

The Ukraine winger is also confident in his own abilities and potential, despite the debate over whether he would be good enough for the England top flight.

He said, “No (I was not aware of the debate)! I appreciate it, but I have to improve a lot of moments because I think I can play better.

“I’m only at 20% maximum of my potential.”

Additionally, Mudryk drew a comparison to his play with Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo after revealing he idolizes the Portuguese legend and hopes to develop his career in the same way.

“My inspiration is Cristiano Ronaldo because of what you can do if you work hard and believe in yourself,” he added.

“I like the way Cristiano plays. That’s how I see myself – a winger.

“But I need more time to change my position from 11 or 7 to 9. With time it is possible.”

Brentford and Everton have failed with offers for Mudryk before, with The Toffees seeing a £26million bid rejected over the summer.

Arsenal’s interest is duplicated by Liverpool and Newcastle, while three other teams across Europe also want him.

Mudryk previously insisted he ‘can’t say no to Arsenal’, while Shakhtar manager Darijo Srna heaped praise on him

“After Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr, he is the best player in Europe in his position,” he said.
