Arsenal fans revel in Antonio Conte’s misery as they notice he parted ways with Tottenham on Mikel Arteta’s birthday
Arsenal fans believe Mikel Arteta had the last laugh after Antonio Conte parted ways with Tottenham on Sunday.
Spurs made the announcement on the Gunners boss’s 41st birthday, with fans making no secret of their joy at the news.
Conte and Arteta have had two contrasting campaigns after Tottenham beat Arsenal in the top four last season.
After Spurs’ 3-0 win in the North London derby at the end of the campaign, which proved crucial, Conte slammed his counterpart in a scathing attack.
The Italian said: “I listen and he complains a lot. I think he needs to be more focused on his team and not complain because he has just started his job.
“He has to be calm and try to keep working. Listening to a coach complaining often is not good.
Tottenham were supposed to progress this term after securing Champions League football, but they are once again embroiled in a battle for fourth place, while Arsenal instead top the Premier League table with eight points.
And the Arsenal faithful think it is poetic justice that the former Chelsea boss left Spurs on Arteta’s birthday.
