And the Spaniard has had informal talks with several clubs over a move including Arsenal, Goal report.

But the Gunners haven’t submitted an official proposal to Costa – who has received an offer from La Liga de Cádiz.

Brazilian clubs Corinthians and Sao Paolo are also said to be interested in the striker.

Costa only joined Atletico Mineiro last summer but could be set for a return to Europe.

And Arsenal need a striker after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was ostracized from the squad ahead of his departure for the Africa Cup of Nations.

There is also speculation linking Eddie Nketiah with a transfer exit this month.

Bayer Leverkusen and Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in the young striker whose contract expires this summer.
