Anthony Joshua APOLOGIZES for role in nasty post-fight brawl with Jermaine Franklin and corner

ANTHONY JOSHUA apologized for that part in his post-fight brawl with Jermaine Franklin.

AJ and Franklin were involved in a scuffle immediately following their heavyweight clash.

Franklin had argued after Joshua reached out to pat him on the head.

The pair then engaged in a cuddling match with tempers starting to sour before they were separated by security.

Brit Joshua later apologized for his role in the ugly scenes, also referring to his tantrum after his second loss to Oleksandr Usyk.

He said: “Last time I took the mic it was a bit chaotic. I’m calm, I appreciate everyone coming out tonight,

“Inside the ring it’s a different energy so I apologize to those watching.

“I respect Jermaine, Eddie [Hearn], Thank you for this opportunity. Fans, thank you too.

“It was important to win. Jermaine has a good duck and dive style, someone else from Britain will probably knock him out; respect for him, he did well.

“I should have knocked him out but it’s done. On to the next one.

“He’s here to prove himself, not to turn around. I wish I could knock him out.”

AJ won the fight with a unanimous points victory.

As for his next fight, Joshua has called up champion Tyson Fury for a highly anticipated Battle of Britain.

The 33-year-old had asked the O2 Arena crowd of 19,000 who they wanted to see him face next, with the crowd chanting ‘Fury’ as one.

To that, he replied, “You know me, I like to support the fans. I know who the fans want. Who the fans want?

“They said Fury? The ball is in his court, I will be 100% honored to compete for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world.

“I stand here and say proudly, it would be an honor, so wherever you are if you listen. You know my management, you know my promoter.

“We’ve had dialect before, so let’s keep going and hopefully we can do it as soon as possible. We’re not getting any younger.”
