Adele postpones Las Vegas residency due to Covid in teary-eyed Instagram post

Adele says “she’s embarrassed” as she announces in a teary-eyed Instagram video that she’s been forced to reschedule all of her shows in Las Vegas.

“I’m so sorry, but my show isn’t ready,” she said in the video posted to Instagram on Thursday.

The artist said all shows would be rescheduled and blamed it on “delivery delays and Covid”.

“We tried absolutely everything we could to get it in place on time and to get it good enough for you, but we were absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid,” she said.

“Half my crew and crew are down with Covid and still are, and it was impossible to complete the show.

“I’m disgusted – I’m sorry, it’s so last minute, we’ve been awake for over 30 hours trying to figure it out and we’ve run out of time.

“I’m so upset and I’m really embarrassed and so sorry for everyone who has traveled [to the show]. I’m really, really sorry.

And she added: “We’re going to reschedule all the dates, we’re on it right now.

“I’m going to finish my show and bring it to where it’s supposed to be. We’ve been through so much and it’s just not ready. I’m so sorry.”

The Vegas Weekend with Adele the residency was announced in November and it was to perform two shows each weekend until April 16, 2022.

His fans bought all 100,000 tickets in six hours when they went on sale in December, setting a record gross average per show of $2.2m (£1.6m).

Ticket prices ranged from $85 to $600 for the balcony and between $860 and $5,000 for the lower part of the 4,200-seat hall.
